Little Chickens, Hens (sempervivum)

  • Caption: Up close at the edge of a lump of Hen and Chickens (what I've always called them, on the web they seem to be called Hen and Chicks small difference).

They are definitely succulents (no leaves).

Also learned that their genus is sempervivum or “live forever” -- probably because they are easy to grow and tend to always come back.

It's doubly meaningful since these came from a cutting from my mother-in-law who recently passed away.

    em>sempervivum indeed.
